I found one of my hens laying on her side and not walking but moving her legs about! I took her out of the flock and contained her in a container. She didnt look too well the next day as she was whipping her head in the oddest of ways. I gave her some positive energy and said my goodbyes and best wishes on her new journey. The next morning, I turn on the barn light and she was bright eyed an looking at me as if to say, "Where is my food!?" That was about one month ago!!! She is still not able to stand but I have made a sling with foot holes so she can. She is leaning more often to her right. I dust her with DE and do some physio work with her on the grass. I throw and catch her to give her wings a bit of a stretch. I help her stand but she wont do much. Any thoughts?! Her appetite is amazing, she clucks when I get to the barn and her poop is normal.

Sounds like Marek's to me- paralysis. From what I understand, birds can live with it but won't ever fully heal. I don't have a lot of experience with this disease though, so hopefully someone who does have more experience will see your post.

I will get a picture of her this morning at some point. I thought with paralysis that her legs would not move. Her legs move alright! She just doesnt want to stand on them on her own. When I try putting her back into her sling, she uses her legs to try and get out but doesnt use them on the ground. Pics soon to be posted.

This is her in her sling. She manage to jump out of it this morning. She makes a fuss with her legs when I try to put her back in. I help her stand on her legs and it is just her balance that is quite off now
