chicken with a messy bottom

the last week my naked neck 2 year old hen, has had a messy bottom. It looks exactly like this picture of a hen that was posted a few years ago here. Any idea of what it is and what I should do. I can tell she's not her usual self, but she is eating and drinking. Could she be egg-bound or is it something else? I'll soak her in epsom salts to clean her up.

If your hen is looking like the picture above I would suggest vent gleet is the issue.
