Hello! We went into the barn today and found one of the chickens dragging her leg. She is getting around fine and when I held her she lets me bend it and touch it. She doesn't seem to be in pain but she isn't using her leg. Also when I hold her foot it doesn't grip my finger like her other foot does. Any thoughts or suggestions on a way to help her?

I'm sorry she's injured.

It's hard to tell by the photos. You'll have to feel of the leg to see if there's a break, any bruising or signs of injury.

If you have vet care, an xray will give more information if there's a fracture.

I'd make sure she's able to reach food/water.

If you do find that the leg is broken, then splinting it to stabilize the leg may be helpful. https://theiwrc.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/Duerr_Splinting_Manual_2010.pdf

Thank you! I'm pretty sure it's not broken. I have moved it all around and bent it and it doesn't seem to hurt or bother her at all. She is getting around fine hopping and moves all over with her group of chickens so for now we are just going to watch it. The closest vet to us who will see chickens is 2.5 hours away. We have used them but we try not to. I had thought about putting her in a smaller cage just so she doesn't move around maybe that will help it heal quicker. Thank you for the link!
