I don't know what is going on with my red sex-links. A few weeks ago, we lost one of them who had had diarrhea for a while. We thought it may have been congenital as she had never been quite the same as the other two birds. They are almost one year old. The other two hens seemed fine at the time. The last couple of days, however, one of our birds has been unwell. Diarrhea, not moving around much, not laying any eggs. We are trying to see if she is egg bound and can't see any evidence of that. The other chicken seems totally fine and is laying good eggs. I am so confused as to what is going on. Any help would be appreciated.

When my chickens get diarrhea I give them a proboscis in their water and it cures them up right away. Many different things can cause diarrhea. But the probotic adds good bacteria into the gut and it actually will fight off and balance the bad bacteria that is causing the diarrhea. The probotic I use is called Probios. I discovered it when my birds were chicks and had a pasty butt problem. It cured the pasty butt up fast and I've been using it ever since
Its wonderful for the whole flock! Just as we benefit from probotics our birds bennifit as well. The probios has many wonderful beneficial bacteria in it that they can't get from just food or yougart.it has lactobacillus acidophilus and lactobacillus case I and lactobacillus plantrum and more! Its guaranteed to have ten million colony forming units of lactic Acid bacteria. One jar is around 12 dollars. I get mine online. At probios.com. it will really help with the diarrhea. Hope this helps. Best wishes

thanks for the reply realsis. i will try probiotics. she basically stayed in her nesting box all day. I'm really worried about her.
