Help, my crossbeak didn't rush out of her coop this morning to eat with the rest of the girls. She stayed up in the coop. Went into the nesting box, which is very unlike her. She finally came out after a bit and then went under the coop and stayed in the very back corner, away from the other girls and far from the food. I went after her and checked her for sour crop and that's no issue. She's closing her right eye like she has an injury, but I didn't see anything, no scratches, no blood, nothing weird or out of place, no swelling or pus around the eye, nothing out of place. No foul breath. I mean, she looks fine. But I can tell, she probably doesn't feel OK. I felt around her bottom, didn't feel anything back there, she did the bak bak thing when I picked her up, she was cuddly and seemed ok with being handled and carried around, no struggle. It has been in the 100's the last 3 days, but she did great, ate and drank thoroughly, yesterday, today and for the rest of the week it's supposed to be in the mid 80's. Their coop is very shady, very ventilated and they have access to fresh cool water and a very little shallow pool to dip feet in. They are free fed and then they get a mash 2x a day and she's been happily eating that. She's showing lethargy though and that worries me, as well as the closed right eye and her not eating with the rest of the girls and not being social as she is usually the most socially active one in the coop. Does anyone have any ideas? The other girls are active and eating. All of them appear to be worried about her and try to gather around her while she hides and hang out.
