Chickens afraid of nesting boxes

My flock is finally showing signs that they are getting ready to lay. I set up a couple nesting boxes in their coop and let them see them all day. I even grabbed a couple birds and set them in there. When it was bedtime not one single bird would go in the coop! Any suggestions?

Put fake eggs in the nesting boxes and don't try to force the hens into them

Chickens dislike change....even good changes freak them out.

Is it already dark where you are?

For a few nights you may have to put them in the coop since they are freaked out.
