Welcome. Do you provide lighting at night? Usually double-yokers come from a lot of artificial light. So I used to have chickens years ago, but then life did what it does, and got too busy, so I had to give up the hobby. I had a flock of 10 hens and 10 guineas at the time. This time around I have 11 hens: 10 New Hampshire Reds and 1 black Cochin mix. Ironically, she is the smallest of the lot, but lays the largest eggs--all double-yolked! I'm retired now, and looking forward to many years of life with my precious chicken babies! I only keep hens, and only for eggs. When they stop laying my husband will have to fight me to stop me from making indoor pets of them. Lol.
