Hello all, I am so happy to join this group. 2 years ago my life changed. My autistic son and I live on 2 acres with my parents (next door), life was good. Then in the time span of 1 month, my dad passed, mom diagnosed with breast cancer, brother diagnosed with colon cancer then my mom also found to have multiple myeloma. That was a shock. Over the next 18 months, I spent lots of time with "medical" people and places. Something had to change, so in March, a trip to tractor supply for dog food I found my saving grace in the form of 6 little balls of fluff, chicks. It was really down hill from there because I am crazy for my girls. 4 Rhode Island reds and 2 from the grab bag, all white. A couple weeks later, while talking to a neighbor, I discovered Indian Runner ducks, 3 beautiful boys. I love my handsome men.
My boyfriend thinks I am nuts, but has still indulged me and built a coop with a 10x18 ft run, with an expansion starting next week to add another 200 sq ft. We have a couple of fox families in our area.
I love my darlings and always feel very happy when I am feeding and cleaning. The distraction has saved me and my son loves them also and got him out from behind the laptop and outside.
Probably too much info for my first post. Thank you in advance for all the help I will get from this group.
