I think most breeds of ducks can co exist with chickens as long as there is plenty of room for them to spread out, Ducks make big messes with water and can muck up a run or coop pretty fast so in our arrangement ducks have one side of house chickens the other but outside they all mingle together with losts of space. Drakes now can present big problems living with chickens, when they come into breeding age they are sex driven and have been know to mate with chickens and kill or seriously injure them. I have drakes and ducks and chickens and a goose and I have never had a problem with drakes going after chickens for mating, but if you hang around here long enough you'll see where someones drake has. I consider myself very blessed to have not had to deal with that issue. ANDWhich duck breed do people find gets along best with chickens?
