Hope someone out there can give me some advice on keeping my chickens out of my flower beds. They have tore up all my flowers, (impaitients, pansy, petunia, begonias....you name it, they tear it up), now they are starting on my perrenial beds. Any ideas on how to keep them away from my flowers and perrenials short of locking them up?
I really don't want to just keep them in a run, like to watch them run around free (just not in my flowers). thanks in advance for your help

I would say your only other option is to fence in your flowers!! I have pots of flowers, herbs and vegetables on my deck and I have them fenced in so our bunny doesn't eat them. Same would apply for chickens. Good luck.

I switched to shrubs instead of flowers. Then you just need to protect the root zone until they get established. I peg down chickenwire around them to keep the hens from scratching there.

You may have to decide what you want to see when you look out the window... beautiful chickens, or beautiful flowers.

Of course, we want it all!!

Try a fence of some kind. It worked for me until about a week ago when they started hopping the fence, so I covered it with chicken wire. They figured out how to get under the wire, I've almost given up. The worst part is that it's an herb garden, they aren't eating anything, just scratching it to do-do! I'm going to try a taller fence. Good Luck!
