Thanks, everyone, for the warm welcome and the thoughts on oleanders. I think we'll give them a good trim at chicken height and watch carefully until we see how everything goes. I'm excited to get my chickens and get going!

My neighbor has oleander growing along our entire property line over, between, and under an perimeter fence right next to the chicken run. The girls have been in the oleander, under it, have had the leaves and branches falling in their run and have never, ever gotten sick from it - or even looked like they would, or ever even looked at it twice. It seems they know what is good for them or not
