Chickens and the color red

It's a bit of a curious question. I'm wondering, if chickens are attracted to the color red, why do they not spend all day every day pecking at each other's red/reddish combs and waddles? Wouldn't it look like blood to them? Or are they able to discern that from other red things?
 
I agree with @JacinLarkwell . They don't like change. If something is a different color than usual, a new pattern, flaky or shiny they will play with it. Kind of like babies when they see something they aren't used to seeing they will go for it. The more eye catching the more likely they are to notice.

I guess they are just not very interested in each other's combs. I have always wondered why they are so obsessed with blood though.
