Saturday I bought some 1 day old chicks and a turkey and 2 goslings. The turkey is the size of the chicks so I put it in the brooder with them because it's so much smaller than the goslings.

My Son in Law just left and he told me the chicks would give the turkey a disease and it would die.

Is this true? Should I set up another brooder just for the 1 turkey?

Thanks in Advance,

jackie

I don't think you need to worry about it as babies. Its when they get out on the ground that chickens can pick up a disease called 'blackhead', and it won't hurt them, but can kill your turkeys. It is spread through waste and earthworms. You can treat it but it's hard to break the cycle.
