I really enjoy coming home and letting my three girls free range. Due to our neighborhood hawk, I have to watch them closely. But sitting out on a nice evening with a glass of wine and watching them is so relaxing!
On a recent wine buying outing I purchased a bottle of Rex Goliath merlot mainly due to the attractive rooster on the bottle. Not only is the wine really really good, but its also cheap (I paid $6.99 for the bottle). Its been ranked one of the top 5 wines under $25 by Wine & Spirits annual restaurant poll for several years running.
In case others enjoy chickens and wine, I recommend Rex Goliath. Here's what is says on the back of the bottle:
It is said that around the turn of the 20th century, traveling with a Texas circus, there lived a rooster named HRM (His Royal Majesty) Rex Goliath. A proud star of the circus, Rex was billed as the Worlds Largest Rooster, weighing in at a goliath 47 pounds. Folks came from far and wide to behold the Giant, who proved to many he was no ordinary farm bird. Rex patiently sat at his circus roost, gazing fondly upon his many admirers, who traveled some from across the state to see him.
