Hello to all
I'm Liz, a new/old chicken lover :frow

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

I had chickens as pets when growing up, my grandma had chickens and ducks as a homesteader. I've been wanting to get chickens since years and finally got them last month, best decision ever!

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
3 hens and 1 roo

(3) What breeds do you have?
2 Sundheimer hens (German breed in extinction) and 2 Araucana
:love
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
searching for info about chickens in Google :)
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I love making and appreciating Art, I love gardening, cooking and eating. I also enjoy reading and sweating in Zumba:wee

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I'm a freelance artist, I have a German Shepherd dog whom I adore, 44 lovely goldfish in a pond and 4 chickens (for now) in the backyard.

(7) I went through a rough time in my life a few years ago, it was a time of loss in my life. Thankfully, my faith, my pets and my garden helped me out and I can see that chickens have come again into my life to never leave and together with my other pets play a part in my healing and thriving process:love

Welcome to BYC! It’s great to have you join us. :woot Sunderheimers look very similar to the Light Brahma except that Brahmas have pea combs.

Thank you all for your warm wellcoming :love

Yes, you are right, Sundheimer chickens have some Brahma in them, Brahmas are bigger and fluffier :)
My two Sundheimer girls: Madeleine, Linda and Araucana roo Pancho Villa, sadly, he has a lump under his beak, a farmer told me he needs to be cull ASAP :hit
But I'll give him a week with extra care and see if it reduces, other than the lump, he is healthy.
