(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I grew up with chickens, but once I could afford my own coop at 24 years old on my own property, I was finally able to get started on raising my own chickens.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I have 9 chickens!
(3) What breeds do you have?
Plymouth Rock, Cuckoo Maran, Buff Golden, Buff Orpington, and Golden Sex Link.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Watching my chickens grow and develop their own personalities has been so amazing to watch and be a part of.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I like to play video games, and cooking.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I have a german shepherd, 2 cats, and a guinea pig. I work from home, so I am able to be with my animals throughout the day. I have a wonderful fiancé who is also passionate about our new chickens.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I found BYC by doing research months before buying my chicks. After 5 weeks of owning chickens, I wanted to join the community to share experiences as well as learn more!
