chickens are not laying

How many chickens? What is their coop/run situation? Do they free range? At that age they should be laying or close, though sometimes some take longer. 2 of my 10 that we’re bought in April still aren’t. You can check the width of their pelvic bones to see who is close. More than 2 finger widths apart should be laying or close. Also if they do the mating squat when you reach for them that shows they are ready to lay, most of mine laid about a week after starting squatting. If they free range you’ve probably got hidden nests.

i have the same question! i have 2 Rhode island reds and 2 barred rock. they are free range and i let them roam around all day. they are almost 24 weeks old, and i have not found any eggs!

So long as none of them are cockerels... They should be soon. I have 4 girls that are a week older than yours, my brahmas and BJG, and they aren't laying yet. The easiest way to tell their close, is once their combs and wattles turn red, start checking their pelvic bones. The width between them will be about 3 fingers when they are ready.
