chickens as pets?

I know many people agree with chickens being strictly farm animals . . . I also know there are many flat out stupid people . . .

Ooh, don't listen to me when I'm being mean.

No, there's no possible way a domesticated bird could ever be considered a pet. Absolutely ridiculous.

It's strange how only wild birds tend to make it to pet status . . .

Another Fellow Floridian here! Shame on Escambia County Commission!!! We're a teeny bit smaller than you guys (4 traffic lites in the whole county!)...no way would our county commission touch this issue! They KNOW too many 4H-ers and FFA-ers would be affected--God forbid it'd cost them a vote!!!!

CHICKENS CAN BE PETS.

PERIOD.

Now I'm trying to figure out what "culture" has pet chickens! I know that in some parts of Northern Europe, they used to be treated like part of the family, mostly because they lived in the house with you during the winter. But somehow, I don't think he's referring to Finns and Swedes.

Hey all, I read this thread but still dont understand wether or not its legal to keep ckickens in escambia county. Can somebody help me with this. .... Thanks

They want to keep chickens illegal to curtail -other illegal activities-

on this principal they should make diving illegal because some people might speed,

or dogs illegal because some people use dogs for 'other illegal activities'

...oh wait there is a banned dog list in many places-

when are people going to start demanding rights back, the laws that strip right from the many because of the few are getting to be a royal pain...
