We rescued a young ancona duck and all 7 hens and our rooster are pecking and chasing her, our 4 month old rouen drake is the only one giving her a chance. We have her separated from them through a chicken wire fence inside the chicken run and they dont seem interested in her unless we try to let her out with them. She is slightly smaller than the hens but not by much. All 8 chickens get along great with our other duck but hes been with them since they were chicks. What can I do to help them accept her?

Give them time to get used to her through a fence. To the chickens it's an intruder, and stranger into their territory. They are following their instincts. After a few weeks seeing it through the fence it will become more familiar.

My chickens and ducks go back an forth on occasion nipping and pecking each other. They are different species who normally wouldn't co-habitate under normal condition.

Keep her separate and have her pin next to the chickens and wait a week or two! Did you just put her in the pin with the chickens??

We put her in a pen inside the run and shes been there for a few days, I just tried introducing them without a fence in between today and it didn't go well at all.

We had to separate our pekin when he had a niacin deficiency and when we put them back together they pecked at each other but they didn't all hang up on him like they are doing to her. I guess I just need to give them more time. Our rouen goes in the coop with the chickens at night so shes all alone in the run all night so I just feel bad for the poor girl

Why not put the two ducks together so she has a friend?

He is in the pen with her now but hes used to going in the coop at night and he freaks out pacing and quacking when the chickens go in for the night and hes left out in the run. I was thinking about putting a small coop or doghouse in the pen for the ducks?

That might work.
He may still complain though since he is used to going in with the chickens.
