Chickens calling wild turkey

I have a mixed flock of chickens that I free range. This morning all of them were standing on the edge of the woods on our property making lots of low clucking sounds. Then they would get quiet for a few minutes and then start clucking again. This went on for almost an hour while I was doing chores, then I heard a turkey call back from the woods. The chickens and turkey have been calling back and forth for the last hour. I have only had chickens for about a year and have never heard of this happening.

I've never heard of that happening, maybe they are curious about the turkeys?

I don't know, I seen the turkey this morning. It's a hen, maybe it's got a nest near to the coop.
