High On Summertime
I’ll start with a backstory first.
I have 35 new chicks that moved out to the coop about 3 weeks ago. They are 2 months old. About a week ago we started letting them go free range in the fence with the adult chickens. Some of the leghorns have insisted on sleeping high up in the tree with our turkeys, and we’ve tried getting them down but there’s no possible way really.
Well today I really noticed that almost half of them are suddenly missing without a trace. We’re talking over a dozen in like two days.
But one died today in the coop, and it was acting really lethargic, had it’s head thrown back, all pale, and won’t open it’s eyes. And one of the Wyandotte’s one more that was sleeping outside had a bite mark on it’s ear area, but i didn’t think anything of it because it could have been another chicken, but now it’s acting sick. What kind of critter could it be? what could be happening??
