Chickens - do they get in the mood???????????

I have 25 brown and white leghorn chcikens. Lately some of the hens have been more like a rooster hollering away and almost guarding a chick when its laying eggs. Do chickens get horny? Not sitting on nests -as Brody chick.

That's what many call "the egg song" most likely. Some chickens make a racket before laying, some directly after they've laid.
