Hello,
My chickens food goes bad within just a few days to a week. Even if I close the bag it starts to smell rancid even though theres no water on it. It is humid here and i keep my hens food in my shed so would that make a differance.

A few times i have gotten fresh new food from the store and it already had chunks of moldy chicken food on it and it smeeled bad. Is it okay to feed my hens the food that just smells alittle bad. Thanks in advance!

During summer I was told to keep my feed somewhere cool,so I keep it in my computer room in a tote cuz the 1st batch went bad when I kept it in the barn. I once got a bag of feed that was bad n took it back n they traded it 4 a new bag,no problem. If ur place of business won't trade it I would find another place to deal with.

Sounds to me you are buying from a place that is selling old feed or they are storing it outside!! I buy Purina gamebird feed, and it lasts for a month till I use it up. And it doesn't start to smell bad or anything. Also just started with chickens and on my first bag of Purina chick starter, and have had the bag 2 weeks. No problems with it either. So if you bought some and it was bad it was some cheaper brand or if it was Purina sounds like you are buying from the wrong place. Dave
