My daughter accidentally let the chickens out and when I put them back I noticed they have huge lumps on their chests. Both of them have it and its never been there before, so I'm thinking full crop? They've never really been out for that long before so I'm guessing they ate tons of stuff. Do I need to give them extra grit or will they be ok with what they picked up on the ground?
If it not something simple like a full crop, what do I do? Or do I need to do anything at all?

Probably full crop. They do need extra grit if eating grass and stuff. Check in AM. If back down, they are fine.

It's a full crop and they will be fine. You won't need extra grit, they have pick up pebbles, dirt and tiny rocks from the ground. Lots of fresh water.......

Thanks. I'm glad to know they should be ok until tomorrow as well. The neighbor said they were up in the mulch, so hopefully they were eating bugs.
