...instead of inside. We installed an automatic door awhile back and it's been a godsend, everyone tucking themselves into the coop each night at sunset. About a week ago, they decided they prefer to be on top of the coop instead of inside. I delayed the door closing time until later, but I've gone out there to find them roosting on top before the door has even closed for the night. Each night, I've been going out to the coop and placing them inside the coop, one by one. Is there any way to get them back into the coop, on their own?

Thanks!

How tall is your coop? I think your best bet would be to put an angled slippery board (suck as puck board) on the roof so the chickens can't roost on it.

Need to figure out why.
How many birds?
How old are they?
How big is coop, in feet by feet?
Pics, inside and out, would help immensely.

As @RWise, mentions ventilation and light can have a big affect.

Also...
Where in this world are you located?
Climate is almost always a factor.
Please add your general geographical location to your profile.
It's easy to do, then it's always there!
