chickens & heat

I only own clean-legged chickens, so I must ask, does anyone here cut the feathers off of the legs of their chickens to help keep them cooler? I've cut the hat around the eyes of my polish as she free ranged and i wanted her to see better.

I've only trimmed feathers off my cochin roos leggs. This is because he was side stepping instead of walking forward. He didn't like the feel of his feathers touching the ground.
