Hello all! Thanks to the new Urban Farming bill here in Charleston, WV, I will soon be starting up a small flock in my back yard. This bill has been received with much hate from many of the rather ignorant people who live here, but thankfully I live around neighbors I get along with quite well.
Oh where to start? I guess I'll use this template from the sticky thread
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I'm brand new to them, but I've wanted one my entire life.
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
I looked up coop ideas and bam I found this website!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
My main hobby is herping, aka keeping reptiles and amphibians. I have many reptiles and will soon be starting up breeding projects with them. I also keep freshwater aquariums. Other hobbies include art (mainly digitally and just pencil), cosplay (anime conventions every fall!), and some video games
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I'm currently a student, and my chickens will be at my long time boyfriend's house. His roommate and I are starting the flock together. As for other pets, I have two leopard geckos, a sudan plated lizard (who is pictured as my avatar for now), two crested geckos, a california king snake, an axolotl, a Pomeranian, a white boxer, a black cat, and a guinea pig. Quite the animal house? Haha. Well the Pomeranian, cat, and guinea pig live at my parents house.
