hi, i live in upper black eddy pa (bucks county). so far i have 4 barred rocks and 4 Ameraucana's that are 3 months old. i am ashamed to say that the coop still isn't finished, because my husbands work stopped after getting the chicks. they sleep in a broody box that is 2 x 4 with a mesh lid. at day light(i get up at 5am, not for the chickens though) i put them in the fenced in yard and bring them back in at dawn. its a pain to say the lest. i love them they jump on my shoulders. i also have 2 kids and a cat.
