chickens in yard

at what age will my 7 chickens decide the can get over the 5 foot fence into the field out back. so far they all stay in yard. but they are 5 months old and getting smart lol

That depends on your chickens. And if the fence is solid or see-through.

My California White can get out of the 48" poultry netting any time she wants to, but doesn't do it very often unless she sees something she wants outside the pen.

If it were a solid fence I'd expect to see her up there on the top of the fence checking out the view from that perspective just like I find her on top of the coop.
