Chickens Keep Laying In Same Box!

We have 8 chickens and ALL of them will only lay in the same box! We tried crates, litter boxes, storage boxes, EVERYTHING and they seemed to only like the crates(bc they would only lay in that one) so we bought another! Problem solved. Right? Nope! Now all right will lay in that one. I went out this morning to see that three of my hens are in the same box. Help! Should I do something? Level them? Get more nesting boxes?

I have 11 hens with 4 boxes but they only want to use the same box. As long as you have the required boxes for them you are doing all you can do if they are using it.

They generally tend to lay in the same box so a broody can sit on a whole clutch of eggs! Sometimes you can hear the egg song (a loud call) which means: "I LAYED AN EGG! COME LAY YOURS NOW!"

Just wait till you have a broody and walk out there with the other chicken slaying eggs on her back. It's a funny sight.

Put one fake egg in each nest....that should help spread the love.
Works well here, but my nests are all the same in a row.

Mine are on the same row and I have a golf ball in each. Still use the same box. If I have a broody in it (like now) they want the box she in.

All in 2 boxes here except one independent thinker who lays in the goat shed every day. There are 2 boxes that are never used, ever! And one blithering chick-idiot who just squats an egg out wherever and whenever she feels the urge, literally stops and drops wherever she happens to be.
