Chickens, Kids and Gardens

Hello Everyone,

Does anyone have any favorite articles that have information about keeping chickens relating to how it is good for kids to interact with them and how they relate to gardening? I did a few google searches but not a lot came up. Looking for information to present to someone who is not keen on any of the above but need to convince them it is a good idea.

There are some books written about the use of poultry for garden enrichment. But, I haven't seen anything specifically geared to kids. Perhaps it's time for you to write a book? I know from experience, that with kids and gardening, small is more. Give them a very small raised bed, or even a container garden to tend. Let them choose 1 or 2 veggies, and supervise the planting, weeding and watering. They often want to do it, but quickly loose interest, and there's little follow through. So, keep it VERY small!
