chickens killing chickens

I have a couple of chickens that have gotten attacked by the dog because the chickens keep getting to close to her pen, amazingly they survived. One chicken was killed by the other chickens, the other one I have in a "hospital" area where they can't get her. Is it normal for chickens to kill another chicken if they are injured?

It's not at all abnormal - chickens peck at the blood and sometimes a frenzy ensues. Overcrowding can add to the issue.

Thank you. I wish I would have thought about the seclusion area before the other died. She was our favorite.
