Chickens laying wherever

My new marans hens just started laying for their last owner two weeks ago and now they are laying wherever. Should I coop them up so they know where is home and where to lay? We did that with other chickens when we got them?

Yes, cooping them up for a few days should do the trick. Other people I've heard put plastic eggs or golf balls in the nests so the hens know where to lay, but if they haven't even gotten that far yet, I'd try keep them cooped up and see if they catch on that way. It should work!
