Chickens living alone or with other chickens

I am thinking about getting a chicken or chickens. I was wondering if anyone knows whether it is better to have more than one. And is two enough or is there a good number of chickens to have together?

Chickens are social creatures so you definitely should have at least two.

Chickens are social and prefer to have company. If you have the space, I would recommend getting 3 or 4. Two might work out okay depending on the chickens, but they'd probably like to have 1 or 2 more for their little flock.
