chickens losing feathers on their backs

my girls are leaving the feathers on their backs thought it might be Mites. used mineral oil on their backs some of themare doing really wellothers are still losing featherswhat is a good remedy

Do you have a rooster? Sometimes roosters, if they don't have enough hens, will overbreed particular hens and cause feather loss/damage.

I have 2 roos but 37 hens. This particular hen is lamebut poco dont play favorites

we have had this problem with our flock of 21. not, one of our small wheatens, was attacked by not only other roosters, but hens as well. he almost bled to death, so we separated him from the rest into his own cage. he's been in there for about a month and is healing well. i would suggest that you have aggressive hens, which is possible, and to seperate any injured. hope this helped!
