Chickens making weird noises

I have two young chickens who just started clucking, I was on holidays for three weeks when they started, I've noticed they are making weird shrieking like noises! Is that normal?

Sometimes before a pullet begins to lay for the first time they get nervous and louder. But I've not noticed scretching but it may be a difference in breed. Also after my pullets lay the sing a egg song loudly but its not exactly scretching either but again it might just be their breed. I wouldn't worry too much. Have they laid yet or are they close to laying? That could have something to do with it. That's when mine got the noiseiest. Hope this helps. Best of luck.

Hi and Thankyou, they stretch a lot, especially after cuddling or mud baths. They're about 6-9 weeks old

But also I think they might get scared cause they is MANY birds around @realsis
