Chickens NEVER been attacked

You are lucky. I don't know how long you have had your birds. I had my first flock around 50 years ago. I don't remember having predator issues back then but maybe because there was a lot of natural prey. We have had dogs in the past and really had no problems when we had the dogs. No more dogs and eventually our birds were discovered and we have lost some to predators. Now I have my birds well protected and haven't had a loss in quite a long while. The predators have to get by my security measures first. I do have several cameras up on my property and see a predator most nights on at least one of the cameras. Here the predators roam mostly at night. Good luck...

Must be a little interesting watching the night cameras, use to work in conservation and they would set up the cameras, sometimes ud see a fox trying to scale a fence, however the fences were built floppy at the top so if the animal got that high it would wave around and they'd struggle to stay on. Saw a few wild cats too, and sometimes the cameras where not always filming but taking shots every so often and my bosses at the time reckon they caught part of a black panther (some kinda mythical mystery like creature around these ways, similar to big foot, Yeti ect..) but it wasn't enough in my opinion for solid evidence not full picture of the animal. Anyway...

Nope, can't say never. Been here about 11 years and we have lost a handful, maybe 4 or 5 mostly to raccoons but also to coyotes and a couple to hawks over the years. Have not lost any in a couple of years but a neighbor's dog wandered down here about a month ago and we did have to doctor one of our birds for a bit. She survived and is back in the flock. We are pretty isolated and have two yappy dogs that keep most ground predators away. Welcome to BYC! :frow
