I have had 6 hens for about 3 months. 4 days ago they stopped coming out of their coop. Been up there ever since. Egg laying normal (5 to 6 eggs each day) My son-in law says he has the same problem. He lives 60 miles away. What happened??? They won't tell me. Any ideas?

Too bad we can't understand their language. I have a couple of guesses: maybe there has been a predator lurking about or perhaps they are reacting to some change in weather (either a really bad storm or perhaps they don't like it outside if it has been really windy or sunny)

Thank You! Thought about all those, I'm going with the wind. It HAS been REALLY, REALLY, windy! Like 25 to 35 mile an hour winds. But, I have them in a well protected grove. Wind died down today so we'll see what happens. (Let you know) Thanks again for the welcome and info!

I guess the yoke's on me, it was an owl!
