Chickens not laying eggs

Many young pullets that started to lay their first egg in spring keep laying in their second winter.
I have one that is still laying this year so far.

If the weather is cold/bad (around 0C), they don’t start until march. Heath
Are they gloomy overcast days? I think it is the quality of light more than temperature.

As for quality of eggs, my older girls really do not have the quality eggs my younger girls do, I bake with them. I don’t have bantams, just full size barn yard mix.

Im not very sure, but I recall we did have nice temps one winter. It started around New Years day and the hens started to lay much earlier than other years. Perhaps we had sunny and warm for a change that year.

Our winter weathers: In winter sunny an cold (East winds and frost from Russia) go together. So are wet and warm (we often have West winds, with sea temps from the Atlantic). Winds from the South/South-East can bring both warm and sunny. Wind directions change. Its uncommon the wind comes from Africa for weeks in a row.
