that just sounds like they aren't ready yetThey are close to about 6-7 inches apart, and I have tried to put all of them on there after dark, but once one jumps of they all start following that chickens to the corner.
5 of them will be a year old in March, and 3 of them are 4 months behind them. except my cockerel and one of my pullets were runts and are still smaller than average, I have been seeing the cockerel put on some weight, but his is still about the size of our Sapphire Gem pullet of the same age. The other is a Welsummer pullet, she is maybe 4 months younger than the cockerel, I have not seen any notable weight gain, but she has a chipped beak, and hangs around the cockerel because she gets picked on more than the other flock members. You mentioned they are still growing, how old are they?
