Chickens on STRIKE this year?

I raised chickens as a teen many years ago and picked it back up late in 2019. This year during the summer all of our hens (we have a flock of about 55 hens and about 7 roosters) all at maturity except about ten of them stopped laying and still have yet to continue. I'm lucky to get one egg a week. I have a feeling it has something to do with their feed. I buy commercial later and scratch from either TSC or co-op.

I'm curious if anyone else has noticed their chickens on strike this year? Have they started paying again? Anyone have any idea what the problem could be?

Is it winter where you live? All chickens slow down in the winter because of shorter daylight hours. I have seven laying hens right now and I'm lucky if I get two eggs a day

A higher protein layer *might* be the kick in the pants they need but the feed their on is likely not the cause. It's been a really cold and dark winter everywhere and that does affect laying.
