Chickens plucking each other?

Why post a question if you do not care to hear some suggestions ?

You can't delete your own posts here so if you post something and want to delete it you just write nevermind or whatever. Some people just put a (.). I said nevermind because I posted something and changed my mind. I appreciate all the help I'm getting. I didn't say nevermind to my original question. You shouldn't assume things.

So bluekote is my new best friend...WHY is that TINY bottle $5???

The "predator hens" looked at the girls with the bluekote for about a minute and then walked away confused as to why the bold spots weren't there anymore.

What is Antipick silkiechicken? Is that the kinda stuff you use on pet birds that make them taste bad so others won't pick on them?

I wish I took a pic of my BLUE hands after spraying my girls. LOL That junk gets everywhere!

Yep, antipick is that bad tasting stuff to keep birds from picking on each other because it tastes bad. Bluekote stains really bad... rubbing alcohol can help get it off though.

Trisha I use surgical gloves when I have to mess with bluekote. I get them from the dollar store, I think it's 5 pairs for 1.00.

I've gotten it before when my male cockatiel was picking on my female (RIP Athena

) I've only seen it at Petsmart, so that's the same stuff?

You are way wiser than I! LOL I was barefoot on the deck and somehow got it all over my hands...my DH's hands AND on the BOTTOM of my feet.

I sell it at Petco too...
I've used Better Bitters which I got in the Bird(I think) aisle...if it's not there check the dog remedies aisle. I know that Bitter Apple is there.

I warn everyone who uses bluekote or woundkote to wear clothes that are two steps away from the rag bag and disposable gloves. Or you'll be blue for a good long time.

Hey, Trisha's making blue marbled soap this week.

Oh I have been there and done that, that's why I wizened up and now use gloves. I wore purple for at least a week.
