chickens quite laying

i have three girls that are of age to lay eggs. one RIR started last week in a bucket, the other two (RIR, EE) go into the bucket but don't do anything. last friday i didn't find any eggs in the bucket so i looked around and found a nest of 3 eggs, 2 brown and one green under the shed where they hide during the day. since then only one egg is found in the bucket everyday but nothing from the other two. i have three acres for them to run but i have not been able to find any other nest. is it possible that they laid their first set of eggs and stopped. i'm going to build them a coop for them to hide in for the winter but for now they free range and hang out on a deck railing at night.
