Chickens roosting in tree

Doesn't really look like you finished your questions. I can say that chickens roost where they feel safe. (they lay where they feel safe too!) If you have a coop with roosts and they choose to roost outside in the trees it's because the higher tree limbs feel safer for them. If given the opportunity most chickens will roost as high as they can get. I have my roosts 7 feet up in the coop! You can see how much higher they are than I am! :p

One of my chickens, Frannie-Blue Plymouth, is in the tree…. Again. This is the 4th time she has gone up and is even higher than the last time. The first 2 times we shook her out and she went in the coop. The last time we could hear her but couldn’t see her. That night was a thunderstorm. I was so worried. The next morning she was perfectly fine and DRY! This time I just sang my good night song and left her to sleep. I was going to trim one wing but decided she is safe so I’ll let her be.
