Ok...heres the deal. I have 5 chicks that are 8 weeks old. We moved into the new coop a week ago. Initially I left a light on inside the coop and at dusk, like clock work they all go in. It has since warmed up and I no longer need the light for warmth and my girls will not go all the way in. They are all roosting wedged in the pop door on the ramp. Whats up with that? What should I do? I dont want to keep leaving a light on.

All I have to say is, chicks are slightly deranged!

When my chicks were that age, they would literally mound together at night in some odd corner, as if trying to escape. ?? I don't know. I tried to rearrange them, but it didn't work. After a while they figured out how to roost properly at night.
