Chickens shedding feathers

I have a Warren Red and a Columbian Black Tail and both seem to be losing their feathers quickly. But its winter and they shouldn't be moulting now. They are eating and drinking fine, I have checked them both over and they look quite healthy apart from the fact they are losing feathers. They don't seem stressed either, any ideas.

They may well be molting. Bizarre time of year (I sure would not want to be molting right now if I were them!) but not uncommon.
