These aren’t my chicken they belong to my Nana, who are older and kind of set in their ways. I’ve been around them enough to notice something’s not right. My Nana say the hens are fine, but anyone familiar with chickens knows that when they seem “fine,” there still might be an issue.

After their sick rooster died, a lot of the hens started showing signs of illness. Their eyes look swollen, their combs are a pale grey pink instead of bright red, and some of them make short little gasping sounds not choking, just a quick breath and then nothing. Also like sneeze mucus idk how describe it imagine like youre sneezing and like you look up, soon you let out a junk of mucus/saliva.

I mentioned it, but Nana she didn’t seem too worried. She decided to just leave the hens as they are. It’s been almost two months now. They haven’t gotten worse, but they haven’t gotten better either they’re just stuck like this

Hi, and welcome to BYC! :frow

Sorry you're having to watch this and not be able to do much.

They could have a respiratory illness they're not able to shake, and probably could use antibiotics, but since it sounds like they wouldn't agree, I'd suggest you try give these chickens a vitamin boost to help them fight this. That would also help if they aren't being fed or eating enough nutrition they need. This may or may not get them past whatever they've got, but regardless, it'll help.

There are vitamin products for their water like Poultry Cell or Nutri-Drench and others, and that's what I'd suggest you try get them to do at a minimum.
