Chickens suddenly stopped laying eggs!

HI I'm new here and I am looking for some advice. We have 18 hens and 1 rooster. all but six of the chickens have stopped laying eggs. we didnt change much in their routine. well they were without some water a few times(it froze) I mean it wasnt long(1-2 hrs) and now they havent been laying eggs for about a week! we've been giving them layer food(lots of it)twice a day and we give them more water. they still havent started laying properly. we used to get 16-17 eggs a day! Please help.

I had this issue once. Turned out one of my hens decided to make a nest under the coop and then the others decided that was just a nifty place to lay. So my advise is to look around in case they decided to start laying in the tulip bed or by the back shed.

They dont have anywhere to hide the eggs because they're shut in a room for the winter. I ve looked everywhere. I dont think that's the problem. Maybe their fighting about the nesting space. they have a favorite nest and they crowd into that one leaving the other two empty.
