So it’s been pretty hot for days, it can get up to 100 degrees. We’ve been free-ranging the chickens and it’s mostly in the shade but still hot. For a few days I’ve noticed a lot of the hens get really pale, like white combs and faces. They have multiple water stations and drink a lot but I still notice they’ll get pale for a few minutes and then return to red, but get pale again quickly. Does anyone know if this is a sign of sickness, overheating or just weird?
Hens go broody when you don’t want them to… and won’t go broody when you do.
