Chicken's Toenail Broken Around Quick???

Hi,
My Easter Egger bantam was standing on one foot a lot today. When she did walk, she was kind limping. I picked her up and noticed a small amount of blood on her toes, and I also noticed one of the toenails. The center toenail looks as if the exterior of the nail was taken off and just the quick was left behind. I soaked it in warm water and saline solution. How would this happen and how long will it take for the nail to grow back?

I doubt that it will grow back. I think she will lose the rest of the toenail. Hope it goes well though.

But it's not a toenail that's left, it's the quick itself. Would the quick fall off or something?
